In 2021, France suspended a law that forbids eating lunch at work. NPR’s Rough Translation talk to an American teacher relieved to see it go and a French historian determined to bring it back.

I was a freelance reporter, interviewing Parisians for an NPR Rough Translation story about legally legally mandated lunch breaks, in collaboration with host Gregory Warner and producer Adelina Lancianese among others.
