Whale Fall (November 2019) is a sound-rich journey to the bottom of the ocean, to feel what happens when whales die.

It is the story of a song - a  collaboration between tenacious musician Carla Kihlstedt, and biologists Tim Shank and Taylor Heyl (the scientists that David Attenborough calls when Blue Planet talks about the bottom of the ocean). Living in Woods Hole, a small village filled with world-famous marine researchers, inspired Carla and her band Rabbit Rabbit Radio to turn ocean science into full album mesmerising experimental music called Black Inscription.

This is also the first piece of radio that was fully reported, produced, hosted, mixed, mastered and sound designed by me, with huge support from the Transom team and my incredible cohort of workshop-goers. You can read my thoughts about making it on Transom.org
